Wire insulation doesn't protect itself from the sharp threads of a metal conduit end — that's exactly what this plastic bushing is designed for. Rated cULus and approved for wet locations, it threads onto the exposed end of 1/2" EMT, RMC, or IMC to create a smooth, insulating transition that shields conductors from abrasion during pull-through and over the life of the installation. Made from polycarbonate for long-term resistance to moisture and UV, it holds up in exposed outdoor terminations and damp interior conduit runs. At just 2–5 g, it adds nothing to the box while adding every bit of protection the code demands.
